Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy
PRP is a type of regenerative medicine. Recent advancements have highlighted how growth factors in our own blood plasma play a crucial role in the body’s auto-regulation and repair processes.
What is plasma?
What are platelets?
Plasma is the liquid portion of our blood. It is the fluid in which red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets bathe and circulate throughout the body. Platelets (thrombocytes) are blood cells responsible for clotting and other vital healing and growth functions.
HOW IT WORKS
The growth factors in the platelets trigger a repair cascade at the injury site.
